A tribute to a cherished friend, colleague, and much-loved member of our team.
It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear colleague and friend, Stephen Garvey, known by our customers as Francis, has passed away unexpectedly.
Stephen was a much-loved and highly valued member of our team, known not only for his skill and dedication but for his warmth, humour, kindness and his well-known love of biscuits! Many of you had the pleasure of working with him directly, and we know how fondly he was thought of by our customers.
This loss has come as a great shock to us all, and while our team takes time to come to terms with it, we are doing our best to continue our work and support our customers as usual.
Remembering Stephen
Stephen joined Tree View Designs as part of our Customer Support Team and quickly became a favourite among both colleagues and customers. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued, listened to, and supported, no matter how complex the issue.
Born in Worcestershire, Stephen later moved to a beautiful part of rural South Wales Pembrokeshire, where he lived on a peninsula within the only coastal national park in the UK with his partner Emma. He loved being close to his family and spending time with his wonderfully loud and lively nieces and nephews.
Growing up in the small village of Far Forest, Stephen went to Hagley RC High School, where his cheeky sense of humour kept teachers on their toes. He went on to study AVCE (Advanced Computer & Engineering) and Music Technology, later graduating from Manchester with a degree in Sound Design & DSP Programming.
Before joining Tree View Designs, Stephen worked in London on digital projects related to the 2012 Olympics and London Marathons. His technical expertise and creativity shone through in everything he did.
His Work and Dedication
Stephen — or “Francis,” as our customers knew him — was at the heart of our support team, playing a vital role in some of our most challenging times, including the Primary Care global IT outage in July 2024. His calm reassurance and quick problem-solving helped countless customers navigate an incredibly tense period.
He also made a significant contribution to Tree View Designs achieving the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, ensuring our systems maintained the highest levels of security and reliability. His innovative approach, technical knowledge, and commitment to excellence left a lasting mark on our company.
Customer Feedback Over the Years
Over the years, Stephen built many wonderful working relationships. He was often praised for his friendly nature, fast responses, and dedication to getting things right the first time.
We have received hundreds of pieces of positive feedback for Francis, reflecting the lasting impression he made on so many people. These are just a small selection that capture his kindness, professionalism, and care for our customers.

A Life Filled with Passion and Curiosity
Stephen had an endless curiosity and a creative spirit. Outside of work, he loved programming modular synthesizers, exploring sound design, and of course, enjoying a good cup of tea and a biscuit (or two).
“Never as tired as when I’m waking up.”
— LCD Soundsystem, Stephen’s quote of choice
Forever Part of Our Team
Stephen was more than a colleague — he was a friend to so many of us. His laughter, generosity, and energy brightened every day, and his presence was felt in everything we did. Tree View Designs simply won’t be the same without him.
He will be deeply missed by all of us at Tree View Designs, and fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege to know and work with him.
Our thoughts remain with his partner Emma, his family, and all who knew and loved him.
